Bahrain iron ore imports in Q3 CY18 witnessed at 2.28 MnT, up 9% Q-o-Q as against 2.1 MnT in last quarter. However, on yearly basis, imports increased 66% as against 1.37 MnT in Q3 CY17.
Bahrain Imports dropped 11% on monthly basis
In Sep’18, the total imports depicted 11% dip to 0.8 MnT as against 0.9 MnT a month before. On yearly basis, Imports increased almost two folds as compared to 0.41 MnT in Sept’17.
Brazil remains the highest iron ore exporter
In Sep’18, Brazilian exports to Bahrain recorded at 0.48 MnT, down 6% M-o-M, followed by Canada at 0.15 MnT (down 12% M-o-M) and Chile at 0.17 MnT (up 6% on monthly basis).

Bahrain pellet export surge 24% Q-o-Q in Q3 CY’18
Bahrain pellet exports in Q3 CY18 recorded at 2.23 MnT, up 24% Q-o-Q as against 1.8 MnT in quarter ending June’18. On yearly basis, exports depicted 56% increase as compared to 1.43 MnT in Q3CY17.
On monthly basis, Sep’18 exports recorded at 0.79 MnT, up 25% as against 0.63 MnT in last month.
Saudi Arabia pellets imports increased sharply in Sept’18
In Sep’18, Saudi Arabia stood the largest importer from Bahrain at 0.4 MnT (up 74% M-o-M), followed by UAE at 0.2 MnT. Indian imports of Bahrain pellet stood at 0.12 MnT in Sep’18 against being nil a month before.
