Bahrain iron ore imports in Jan’19 recorded at 0.98 MnT, up 48% as against 0.66 MnT in Dec’18. On yearly basis, imports witnessed significant rise as compared to 0.37 MnT in Jan’18.
Iron ore Imports from Brazil increased sharply in Jan’19
In Jan’19, Brazilian exports to Bahrain recorded 84% of total import share at 0.82 MnT, up 67% against 0.49 MnT in Dec’18.The remaining 16% contributed by Canada at 0.16 MnT in Jan’19.

Bahrain pellet exports down 14% in Jan’19
Bahrain pellet exports in Jan’19 recorded at 0.6 MnT, down 14% M-o-M as against 0.7 MnT in Dec’18. However, on yearly basis, exports increased 62% in Jan’19 as compared to 0.37 MnT in Jan’18.
UAE turns out to be the largest pellets importer from Bahrain in Jan’19
UAE stood the largest importer of Bahrain pellet at 0.31 MnT for Jan’19, up significantly as against 0.08 MnT in Dec’18. Egypt stood second largest importer at 0.23 MnT (down 28% M-o-M) followed by Oman at 0.07 MnT.
