Melting scrap prices today increased marginally in the northern region, especially in Punjab’s Ludhiana market, following slight material shortage amidst correction in conversion spread. Meanwhile, in other markets, prices fell by around INR 900/t, particularly in Maharashtra, due to measured demand of finished steel amidst steel producers engaging in needs-based purchases, SteelMint notes.
