Australian coal miners raise quarterly hard coking coal prices to $225/t FOB Gladstone for quarter-3 looking at tight supply . It is reported that miners have concluded long term contracts with Asian buyers.
Market sources also report that Indian buyers might have to pay high for spot prices as they look to place orders before monsoons.Where as Chinese steelmakers have other option of buying cheaper coking coal from Mongolia.
Suppliers of semi-soft coking coal have failed to hold their positions. They have cut prices by $3-5/t to $125-130/t FOB Gladstone due to slow demand.
