Australian Iron Ore Exports Fell 1.4% in 10M CY’19

–The world’s largest iron ore producer – Australia exported 688.96 MnT of iron ore, which is down 1.4% Y-o-Y in first 10M of CY’19 due to tropical cyclone Veronica in Mar’19, major shipping ports on the Pilbara coastline were forced to cease operations in the interests of safety.

–One of the largest importer of Australian iron ore – China has observed a fall in its iron ore shipments to 1.4% Y-o-Y against preceding year. Import volumes accounted 575.09 MnT in 10M CY’19. Followed by Hong Kong, Indonesia & Japan by -20.1%, -10.5% & -7.5% respectively.

–Japan also lowered iron ore import volumes by 7.5% Y-o-Y to 49.9 MnT in 10 M CY19.

–On the other hand, Taiwan, Vietnam & Malaysia has accounted a rise in their import volumes with 13.05 MnT, 4.69 MnT & 2.10 MnT respectively.
