Australian govt imposes 35% additional tariff on imports from Russia

The government of Australia has decided to impose an additional tariff of 35% on imports from Russia and Belarus from 25 Apr’22. Also, imports of energy, oil and gas products and exports of alumina and aluminum ore (including bauxite) to Russia have been banned. In CY’21, Australia’s steel imports accounted for $6.22 billion, out of which $155.19 million was imported from Russia.
