Australian government sets cap on domestic thermal coal prices

The Australian government has announced a price cap of $125/t on domestic thermal coal prices. This has come to support households and businesses to lower their power bills and secure energy future. The coal prices sold to power plants in Australia stood at $200/t in recent months, according to market reports. The government also plans to cap gas prices at $13 per gigajoule.
