Imported coking coal prices are more or less stable this week owing to timid response from Chinese traders.
Australian Premium HCC offers have fallen continuously in past couple of months, but shows stability this week. No changes are witnessed this week in prices of imported grade.
Chinese traders basically have restricted their activities in coking coal trade market due ‘golden week’ celebrated on first week of October every year.
Sluggish demand from China, one of the giant in coking coal imports, has resulted in thin trading of coking coal in global market.
SteelMint assessed that Australian Premium HCC were offered in the range of USD 81-82/MT, FoB this week.
Whereas, Australian HCC offers remained unchanged at USD 75-76/MT, FoB.
Current freight rates from Australia to India are assessed at USD 9-9.5 /MT for panamax vessels and USD 8.5/MT for capsize vessels.
However, one of the Indian importer has claimed to peg Australian Premium HCC at USD 84/MT, CFR India and Australian PCI coal at USD 74-75/MT, CFR India.
