Amid delayed coal deliveries from Indonesia due to the coal export ban, buyers are looking to book supplies from alternate sources. Prices of Australian 5500 NAR grade coal are at $140/t, up 37% m-o-m, while a Feb’22 loading cargo of 6000 NAR coal changed hands at $300/t, trader sources informed. The deal is one of the most expensive ever transacted, which could push spot prices higher than even levels seen in Oct’21.
