Vessels at Newcastle and Port Kembla have been ordered to vacate their anchorages as storms are expected to hit already saturated coal fields in Australia’s New South Wales. The Australian Bureau of Meteorology had issued warning for heavy rains in the Hunter and Illawarra coasts last week. The wet weather has already affected the supply of thermal coal and coking coal and dragged down the country’s exports to a two-year low at 22.91 mnt in Jul’22.
