Australia to build country’s largest wind farm to reduce dependency on coal for power generation

Coal-rich Queensland, Australia is set to build the country’s largest publicly owned wind farm, reducing its dependency on coal usage for power generation. The 500 megawatt-Tarong West wind farm will feature up to 150 wind turbines and could generate enough clean electricity to power up to 230,000 homes. The govt expects the wind farm to be operational by 2026.
