Australia miner, South32 Ltd, will sell its Illawarra metallurgical coal business to an entity owned by Golden Energy and Resources (GEAR) and M Resources. The sale aims to streamline South32’s portfolio and focus on copper and zinc expansion. Illawarra metallurgical coal production in FY’23 (from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023) stood at 5.94 mnt and with sales reaching 5.40 mnt for the same period.
