Australian premium hard coking coal prices are assessed at $660/t FOB, up $45/t d-o-d, while Australian low-volatile PCI coal prices are at $655/t FOB, up $55/t d-o-d. Prices are rising on strong buying interest in ex-China markets, particularly India and Europe, on the apprehension of lack of Russian material due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine as well as wet weather and COVID-19-related labour shortage in Australia.
