Australia’s Pilbara Ports Authority has achieved record throughput of 724.7 mn t in the fiscal year ended on 30 Jun’21, as per official data released by the Authority. Data shows an increase of 14% in throughput over the past five years, which could mainly be attributed to improved efficiencies at the ports in terms of handling larger iron ore volumes. The Pilbara Ports Authority has three main ports – Port Ashburton, Port of Dampier and Port of Port Hedland.
