Australia Newcastle Thermal Coal rises by 0.7% to reach $122.27/MT

Power-station coal prices at Australia’s Newcastle port, an Asian benchmark, have increased by 0.7 %in this weekend.*

Coal prices at the New South Wales port in Australia rose to $122.27/MT from $121.48 the previous week, according to the NEWC Index.

Xstrata Plc (XTA), the world’s largest exporter of power-station coal, BHP Billiton Ltd. (BHP) and Rio Tinto Group are among the top mining companies that ship coal through Newcastle.
