Australia: Newcastle Port Shipment dropped by 13% W-o-W

World’s leading Coking & Non-coking Coal exporting port, Newcastle Port Corporation (NPC) has reported 13% drop in its Coal shipments during week ended on 10 Feb, 2014.

New castle port has reported that last week (up to 10 Feb, 2014) shipments slid by 13% in compare to preceding weeks (up to 3 Feb, 2014). The week ended on 10 Feb, 2014 port has shipped around 3 MnT of Coal.

Till 10 Feb, 2014 Newcastle port exported around 4.2 MnT of Coal including Coking & Non-coking Coal. In this month, port authorities are targeting to ship total 11.3 MnT. Whereas, as per port authority actual shipped for current month plus projected balance from Coal terminal would ship around 11.9 MnT of Coal which is slightly improved by 1.9% from the ports previous week’s projection.

Port has also reported that during last week, 36 vessels entered at port for loading with average waiting time of 4.4 days. Whereas, just preceding week 34 vessels entered at port with average waiting time of 3.4 days.

As on 10 Feb, 2014 8 vessels had loaded Coal at port, 7 vessels were waiting to load and 44 vessels were expected to reach at port.
