Spot Steam coal prices at Australia's
Newcastle port fell by $5/MT on Friday.

Newcastle 6700 kc GAD Steam Coal FOB price stands at $105.95/MT i.e. down by
$5/MT from the price quoted previous week.
Coal shipments from Australia's Newcastle port have also declined
by 5.4% to 2.34 million mt in the week ended 9th March, said in a
report Monday. The second weekly decline in coal exports comes as Newcastle
port prepares for a large-scale shutdown of its railway for four days.
A section of the Hunter Valley railway from Muswellbrook down to Kooragang
Island at Newcastle port will be closed to coal train traffic from Tuesday to Saturday,
said the Hunter Valley Coal Chain Coordinator in a maintenance report on its
website.
Maintenance work is also scheduled for some ship-loaders,
re-claimers and dump stations at Newcastle's Carrington and Kooragang coal
terminals to coincide with the railway maintenance.
