Shut since 5 Jul’22 due to heavy rains, the Hunter Valley rail line has resumed operations albeit with limited capacity. The closure impacted coal deliveries from mines to Newcastle Port and power station. This also impacted the country’s coal exports that have touched a 14-week low at 1.4 mn t during 3-9 Jul.
