Australian 6000 kcal/kg NAR grade coal prices have risen by a whopping 136% y-o-y to $440/t FOB. Earlier this week, prices were at $457/t, hitting a 14-year high level. The surge in coal prices is followed by elevated LNG prices and the uncertainty of gas flows from Russia to Europe. Moreover, increased bookings from Korea and Japan are also supporting coal prices.
