Glencore has decided to close 12 coal mines by 2026 in an effort to reduce carbon emissions. The company expects Newlands and Liddell coal mines to close by 2023, while Integra coal mine by 2024. Notably, the Swiss multinational commodity trading and mining company’s coal production guidance will stabilise at 110 mnt. The same is lower by 11 mnt compared to 2021 guidance that was 121 mnt.
