Australia: Coking coal prices continue to rise on tight supply

The price of Australian premium low-volatile hard coking coal surged by $24/t on 10 Sept’21 to $336/t FOB on limited availability for Oct laycan cargoes. Nevertheless, buyers with restocking demand are placing bids for Australian coking coal, as steel margins are healthy due to decreasing global iron ore prices despite coking coal prices being at decadal highs.
