Australian Coking Coal exporters are now back to their usual business, with the exports from the country surging to more than pre-Debbie levels.
During May’17, 15.73 MnT of Coking Coal was exported from Australia to various countries, according to the vessel line-up data collected by CoalMint Research. The export volume in the month was substantially higher by 86.19% than the exports in Apr’17, at 8.53 MnT.

The rise in the export volume was a result of the resumption of normal supply in Australia, post recovering from the Debbie cyclone impact.
A break-up of the destination-country-wise Coking Coal exports from Australia during the month reveals that the exports to the major destinations—China, India and Japan surged by 175.23%, 42.03% and 126.99% respectively over that in Apr’17.

The export thoroughfare in the major ports in Australia also increased during the month under review. During the previous month, the export traffics in the ports impacted by the cyclone were lower.
