Australia: BHP’s iron ore production stable, y-o-y, in Jan-Mar’22

Diversified mining major BHP Group produced 66.7 mnt of iron ore in Q1CY’22, stable y-o-y as against Q1CY’21. The numbers were reported as third-quarter production results by BHP, as 30 Jun is the fiscal year-end for Australian companies.
However, the miner’s output declined by 10% q-o-q compared with 73.9 mnt in Q4CY’21.
BHP’s iron ore production guidance for FY’22 remains unchanged at 278-288 mnt.
