CIL reported a drop in June output to 39.2 mn t-12.8% decline on year from 44.95 mn t in Jun’19. Production in Q1 of FY20 slumped to 121.01 mn t from 136.94 mn t in Apr-Jun’19. Coal offtake too fell by over 7 mn t in Jun’20 compared to Jun’19 due to poor demand from the power sector.
