Over the past few years, ASEAN countries, mainly Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines, have attracted many steel investments from major steel producing nations including China. Philippines is getting investments from China’s Panhua Group for 10 mn t flat steel and HBIS SteelAsia JV for a plan of 8 mn t long steel in 2023 and 2026, SEAISI reported.
