ArcelorMittal Europe has raised steel prices for all new agreements by Euro 50/t from 6 Oct’21, SteelMint learnt from sources. Prices have been hiked on spiralling electricity, natural gas and carbon prices in the EU as well as the rapidly increasing prices of ferroalloys and lime that have raised production costs by Euro 120 per tonne of steel. The surcharge will be withdrawn as energy costs fall.
