Anthracite Coal Offers to India Undergo Slight Increase

Anthracite Coal offers to India were slightly uplifted this week, primarily owing to higher Breeze Coke prices as well as rising ocean freight costs.

Despite strong international demand, the Anthracite Coal market in India has remained lackluster due to sluggish demand, mainly because buyers of Anthracite Coal preferred using alternate coal types.

In such scenario keeping in mind the downward sentiment looming over the Indian market, this rise in international prices of Anthracite Coal can be explained as Breeze Coke prices still prevail at high rates.

It is to be noted that prices of Breeze Coke and Anthracite Coal are co-related as both the commodities can be used as a substitute for each other.

The latest offers for Anthracite Coal have gone up to around USD 136/MT FoB, which translates into around USD 149/MT CFR India; higher by around USD 2/MT over the week-ago assessment.
