Anthracite Coal Market in India Remains Sluggish

The Anthracite Coal market in India has remained lackluster as there was almost no affinity among the buyers in the country for using the fuel.

International offers have stagnated at the last known rates as any change in the offers could only be expected after the Chinese market returns to full-fledged operations after the Lunar Year holidays.

Offers for the Anthracite Coal have remained at around USD 145/MT CFR India, unchanged from the offers assessed the week last.

As a sequel to the sluggish demand in the country, imports have remained insignificant. In the current month only 21, 000 MT of the coal was imported in India. The import consignment was procured by Rawmet from Russia. According to the data compiled by CoalMint Research, another 5 vessels carrying 79,210 MT of the coal in total are expected to reach Indian ports within this month.
