Anthracite Coal Imports into India in Jan’17 Stay Low on Weak Demand

Anthracite Coal imports into India have been low due to the sluggish demand. The import figure in Jan’17 showed no different story.

In Jan’17, Anthracite Coal imports into India were at 80,340 MT, though higher than the imports in Dec’16, at 24,300 MT, yet significantly low.

The import data for the month reveals that imports during the month came from Vietnam and Lativia.

Among the ports in India, the Dharamtar port had handled the highest volume of import traffic during the month; followed by the Paradip port.
