Anthracite coal imports into India have remained at lows due to the negligible import affinity prevailing among the buyers in the country.
In July’16, a meager quantity of 100,600 MT was imported into the country, according to data compiled by SteelMint Research. The quantity is lower by around 37% over that in the preceding month. In Jun’16, 160,400 MT was imported into the country, SteelMint Research data shows.

Out of the total import during the month, imports from Russia formed the largest share, followed by that from South Africa.

The imports have landed at the Paradip, Vizag and Haldia ports in the country during the month under review.
