Anthracite coal import to India remained low in Jan’16 due to sluggish demand.
In Jan’16, a meager quantity of 60,800 MT was imported into the country. The import quantity is lesser by approximately 3% against the quantity imported in Dec’15.
Russia was the only exporting country during the month. The total quantity was imported in two consignments by two buyers viz JSW Steel and Tata Steel.

Receiver-wise Anthracite coal import in Jan’16
As a matter of fact, Anthracite coal import has prevailed as low during the current fiscal. Till the end of the 10th month of FY16, a total quantity of 500,500 MT was imported into the country, SteelMint Research shows.
