The upswings in Petcoke and Coking coal prices in international markets have influenced Anthracite coal offers.
The latest import offers of Anthracite coal have jumped at least by USD 15/MT to around USD 112/MT CFR India, according to a market participant.
The rise in the offers could be attributed to the rising prices of other forms of fuel, like Petcoke and Coking coal, prompting Anthracite coal suppliers to raise prices.
However, sluggish conditions continue to prevail in the Indian market in respect to Anthracite coal. Import affinity among buyers has been muted as they preferred other forms of fuel.
