Anthracite Coal Import Offers Go Up Slightly on Higher Freight Rates

Anthracite coal import offers have gone up slightly as a result of the recent increase in shipping freight rates.

The latest import offers from Russia are assessed at around USD 95/MT CFR India.
However, the market in the country has continued to remain sluggish as buyers preferred cheaper alternate fuels, like Petcoke and other forms of coal.

Anthracite coal imports into India in Jun’16 were recorded at 160,400 MT, according to SteelMint Research. The  import quantity during the month surpassed that in the previous month by more than two-fold.
