AM/NS India has posted 2% q-o-q drop in crude steel production at 1.624 mnt in Q4CY’22 against 1.663 mnt Q3 due to lower exports. Production declined by 12% y-o-y against 1.847 mnt in the same period last year. Similarly, steel shipments fell by 3% on the quarter to 1.593 mnt in Q4 from 1.634 mnt in Q3 and the same fell by 8% y-o-y compared with 1.731 mnt in Q4CY’21.
