India: Melting scrap prices increase by INR 300/t d-o-d in Alang

Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market increased by INR 300/t d-o-d on 29 May’26, with BigMint assessing HMS (80:20) at INR 35,300/t ($370/t) ex-yard. Although trade activity in semi-finished and finished steel segments remained limited during yesterday’s session due to Bakrid festival celebrations, tight scrap availability and steady buying interest prompted suppliers to raise their offers today.
