India: Melting scrap prices declined by INR 300/t d-o-d in Alang

Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market declined by INR 300/t to INR 35,300/t ($369/t) ex-yard on 9 Jun’26. The correction followed a mild decline in semi-finished and finished steel prices observed in the previous trading session. Additionally, subdued buying interest from steelmakers and cautious sentiment among market participants exerted pressure on scrap prices, resulting in lower offers from suppliers.
