Adani Begins First Coal Export to Bangladesh

Adani Enterprises have begun coal exports to Bangladesh and initiated its first shipment for Dec’16 delivery at Chittagong port.

Adani Enterprises, one of the largest coal trading firm in India has initiated its first shipment of 28,950 MT South African RB3 (4800 NAR) coal to Bangladesh in Dec’16. While, in India the coal export shipment is initiated from Gangavaram port on 9th Dec’16 in Orient Sunrise vessel.

The company received its first pact of coal supply to Bangladesh in Nov’16 which is expected to deliver by 14-15 Dec’16 at Chittagong port.

Also mentioned, a capsize vessel of South African RB3 imported material had reached at India in early Nov’16, while out of the total quantity about 28,950 MT coal is exported to Bangladesh recently.

As per the SteelMint data Analysis, Bangladesh coal import surge to 0.37 MnT in Nov’16 against 0.18 MnT in Oct’16.

The Country’s coal Import are affected by bad weather condition in Bay of Bengal, In FY17 (Jul-Nov’16) only 0.75 MnT coal imported against 1.66 MnT in FY16 (same period)

In Nov’16 Bangladesh imported 0.37 MnT of coal, major import was recorded from South Africa (0.16 MnT) and Indonesia (0.15 MnT) and the rest from Australia.
