Nation’s crude steel performance fell by 4% M-o-M to 71.83 MnT in Sept’17 after hitting an all time high of 74.59 MnT in Aug’17. Fall in monthly output could be attributed to the production cuts announced by the government ahead of the winter season to curb pollution.
China’s monthly crude steel production has fallen to lowest since Mar’17. In Mar’17, China’s crude steel production stood at 69.4 MnT after which it increased and stood around 72-74 MnT.
However on yearly premise, China’s crude steel production reported a rise of 5% against 68.17 MnT in Sept’16.
In the tenure of first nine months of CY17 (Jan-Sept’7) nation’s crude steel output increased by 5.2% to 636.8 MnT as compared to 605.3 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.
