Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) also known as Vizag Steel-government owned steel producer, has issued a tender for export of total 70,000 MT Steel Products comprising 15,000 MT Billets (90*90 MM); 30,000 MT Blooms (150*150 MM); 10,000 MT Rounds; 3,000 MT Angles (75*8 & 75*10 MM); 2,000 MT Beams (125*70 MM) and 10,000 MT of Wire Rod Coils(5.5,6.5 &/or 8.0 MM) from its Vizag plant, according to latest tender document uploaded on company’s website.
The last tender dated on 27th Sept’17 of 15,000 MT (150*150 MM) Billets, by Vizag steel was cancelled owing to lower bids than company’s expectations. The company managed to receive bids at around USD 475/MT, FOB India east coast.
Indian Billet export prices are hovering around USD 490-500/MT, FOB India main port for 5SP grade. Whereas 4SP grade Billet generally trades below USD 5-7/MT. Last deal from India was concluded close to USD 500/MT, FOB India by JSW Steel in the second week of October 2017.
