Iran iron ore export in August are reported to be at 1.6 MnT according to the data maintained with SteelMint based on vessel line ups.
Out of total iron ore exported from Iran in Aug’17, 98% of the quantity was exported to China and remaining 2% to UAE.
Iran is listed in the 15 top mineral and metals rich countries. Iran has about 37 billion tonnes of proven reserves and more than 57 billion tonnes of potential reserves.
An analysis is that the Iran not only have large underground resources like hydrocarbon, mineral or metal but it is in the top list of the global production numbers of several of it.
It is estimated in some reports that Iran holds more than seven percent of the world’s mineral reserves. Iran as country is at work to develop its steel industry and has been trying to woo foreign investor’s for past couple of years.
Major Iranian mining companies produced 12.6 MnT Iron Ore concentrate in the first four months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), up 28% Y-o-Y.
The Iran Iron Ore production numbers from FY10-11 to FY12-13 show that it has grown consistently.
