>> In Montana (of USA), 3.36 MnT of coal was produced in July’17, and that was up by around 2 MnT from that in the same month of the previous year. Increased exports to Asia, particularly to South Korea and Japan, could be attributed for the higher coal production.
>>Global mining major—Rio Tinto—has completed sale of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Coal & Allied Industries Limited, to Yancoal Australia Limited. With the production of all operations at the Hunter Valley being transferred to the buyer, Rio Tinto’s target for Thermal Coal Production has been reduced to 13-14 MnT from 17-18 MnT.
