India’s largest iron ore miner – NMDC have supplied around 241 rakes from its Bailadila mines in Chhattisgarh in August against 253 rakes in Jun’17 suggest the data available with SteelMint recorded till 27th Aug’17. The NMDC’s iron ore supply from Bailadila mines has been stable M-o-M in Aug’17. In the month of Aug’17, the miner has kept the prices unchanged.
Outside C.G. based units reduced iron ore sourcing by 6% – Iron ore procurement of outside C.G. based units decreased 6% M-o-M to 168 rakes in Aug’17 against 178 rakes in Jul’17. RINL (Vizag Steel) sourced 106 iron ore rakes in Aug’17 against 79 rakes in Jul’17. JSW Steel’s iron ore procurement from NMDC dropped from 31 rakes in Jul’17 to just 5 rakes in Jul’17.
Southern India based pellet maker – KIOCL sourced 41 rakes from NMDC (C.G.) in Aug’17 compared to 58 rakes in Jul’17.
C.G. based sponge units iron ore sourcing up by 8% in Aug’17 – C.G. based sponge iron units sourced 39 rakes from NMDC (C.G.) in Aug’17 compared to 36 rakes in Jul’17. It is to be noted that C.G. based units procure 60 to 70 rakes on an average in a month from NMDC. The sponge prices have been up by around INR 2000/MT in Aug’17 due to the scarcity and higher prices of raw material like coking coal which resulted in lowered production.
Movement for exports decreased in Jul’17 – NMDC loaded 34 rakes for export in Aug’17 compared to 39 rakes in Jul’17.
