According to the latest customs data, South Korea flat steel imports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates),7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) drop sharply by 27%,M-o-M basis in Jul’17 and stood at 0.68 MnT as compared to 0.93 MnT in Jun’17.
On Y-o-Y basis, South Korean flat steel imports reduced by 33% in Jun’17 against Jul’16. In Jul’16 the same stood at 1.02 MnT.
In first seven months of CY17 (Jan-Jul) country’s flat steel imports decline by 5% to 6.33 MnT against 6.66 MnT in similar time-frame of previous year.

Country-wise South Korea Flat Steel imports in Jul’17-China remained the major flat steel exporter to South Korea and accounts for 64.5% of share in Jul’17 .Other major countries include Japan with 31% share followed by Taiwan with share of 3% in Jul’17.
