OMC to Auction 37,000 MT Chrome Ore on 3 Aug’17

For the next round of chrome ore e-auction which is going to be held on 3 Aug’17, the Odisha government owned miner, Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC) has offered a total 37,000 MT friable chrome ore.

The company has offered 26,300 MT from South Kaliapani chromite mines, 6,200 MT from Sukrangi Chromite mines and 4,500 MT from Paradip Port.

As per the specification, Chrome ore grade shall be within the range of 42% to 54%.

The delivery date of the material will be within 30 days, except in case of ores auctioned from Paradip Port which is 60 days.

As per a source privy to the information, OMC is expecting a good round of auction with satisfactory response on account of improved demand for Ferro Chrome in Chinese market.

The previous round of OMC Chrome Ore Auction received poor response with only 36% of auctioned Chrome Ore was bid for. Only 17,700 MT Chrome Ore received bids and that too at the base price.
