Anthracite Coal offers have remained unchanged at that the week-ago rates. Imports have, however, improved at bit.
The latest offer for Anthracite Coal is assessed at around USD 115/MT CFR India, unchanged from that the week last.

However, imports of the coal in Jun’17 had increased by 96.54% over the imports in May’17, according to CoalMint Research. In the month under review, 184,547 MT of Anthracite Coal was imported in India; that was higher than the imports of 93,900 MT in May’17.

On a year-on-year comparison, the imports during the month rose by 15.05% against the imports of 160,400 MT in the same month of the previous year.
A break-up of the countries of import during the month reveals that the imports were highest from Russia among all the importing regions, followed by Latvia.

During the month under consideration, the Paradip port had handled the highest volume of import traffic, while, the Vizag port handled the second highest.

The list of importers during the month was: Ankit Metal, Bengal Energy, Tata Steel, Rawmet Commodities, Bhushan Steel and Essar Steel.
