Iran: Iron Ore Export Trade Reference Prices

Iran is one of the major iron ore exporting countries of the world. Country exports iron ore majorly to China (around 94% share of total exports). Iran exports Hematite, Magnetite and concentrate.

Iran emerged as 6th largest iron ore exporter to China in CY16 after Australia, Brazil, South Africa, India and Ukraine. Iran exported 14.5 MnT iron ore to China.

Mr Mostafa Azizi, an iron ore trader at ZSC group in Iran shared that trade reference prices as below:

Iron ore prices in China tumble on falling iron & steel futures – Iron ore prices in China fell slightly today amid fall in Chinese iron and steel futures. Prices for Fe 62% fines were heard to have slipped below USD 62/MT, CFR China mark.

Iron ore trading activities in physical markets also fell owing to fall in futures.

Chinese spot Rebar & HRC prices fall – China’s spot rebar prices fell today up to RMB 50/MT. Spot prices of Shanghai rebar (16-25 mm) is today assessed at RMB 3,560-3,600/MT (ex-works, including VAT). On similar lines, spot HRC prices, in China today fell today to RMB 3,550-3,570/MT (ex-works, including VAT).
