Indian Pig iron production increased sharply by 15% to a total of 4.17 million metric tonne in July this year, as compared to the similar month in 2012.
Among six others countries, it marked the highest growth in production.
Worldwide output went up by 4.3% Y-o-Y (year on year) and by 2.5% M-o-M (month on month) in July 2013.
And, a total quantity of 98 million metric tonnes of the material was produced.
Most of the countries saw a rise in Pig iron production, except the EU countries.

China 60 (6.6%)
Japan 7.26 (2.2%)
CIS 6.96 (5%)
Only EU countries registered a drop of 3.7% Y-o-Y in July to a total of 7.6 million metric tonne.
Pig iron output went up by 4.3% to 684.3 million metric tonne in the first seven months (January to July) of this year in comparison to the same period in 2012.
