Turkey: Iron Ore Imports Down 37% in Apr’17

The tenth largest importer of Iron ore, Turkey’s imports have witnessed a considerable decrease of 37% M-o-M to 0.75 MnT iron ore as it was 1.19 MnT in Mar’17. Turkey iron ore imports were down Y-o-Y as well by 4% as it was at 0.78 MnT in Apr’16.

In the first four months of 2017, the country imported 3.94 MnT iron ore, up 11.63% as it was 3.53 MnT in the same period last year.

The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) import in Apr’17 was registered at 0.52 MnT, down M-o-M 11.92%. On the same lines, the agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) import was registered at 0.22 MnT, down by both 61.5% M-o-M and 49% Y-o-Y.

Country’s iron ore imports were majorly from Brazil 0.42 MnT, Sweden 0.16 MnT, South Africa 0.09 MnT & Ukraine 0.08 MnT.
