According to trade statistics released by Turkey customs Turkey, the world’s third largest pig iron importer has imported 48,341 MT of pig iron in Apr’17.
However, nation’s Pig iron imports have showed the downfall of 27%, M-o-M basis in Apr’17 against 66,361 MT in Mar’17. On the contrary, country’s pig iron imports were down by whopping 60%, Y-o-Y against 119,954 MT in Apr’16.
In the first four months (Jan-Apr) of 2017, the country’s imports were registered at 0.26 MnT, decline by 33.3% to 0.39 MnT in the same time period prior this year.
Country-wise Pig Iron Imports-
Majority of Pig iron is imported from Russia, Germany and Ukraine. In Apr’17, imports from Russia is registered at 33,516 MT against 11,709 MT in Apr’16. Similarly imports from Germany assessed at 9,716 MT and 5.109 MT in Apr’17.
