According to port data maintained by SteelMint, 4th Scrap bulk vessel in CY’17 is reported at Vizag port from USA (Tacoma port).
Vessel New General carrying 20,400 MT steel scrap from USA, is expected to berth at Vizag port on 30 May 2017.
As per sources around 4-5 more bulk vessels were booked by Indian importers during April 2017, shipment expected in the month of June. Booking for the cargo concluded at an average price of USD 290-300/MT CFR India.
Scrap import is supported by falling scrap price in international market as well high coking coal prices, which has climbed from 162/MT in March’17 to current 178/MT FOB Australia.
